Colour advice for hair
Picking the perfect finish for your piece can be confusing.
As a general rule, if you've seen a stone design that you like in one setting, you will love it in your favourite setting also.
All our pictures are of clients' own rings, we are happy to help with pictures if you are unsure, but due to the myriad of designs and colour options, we don't have pictures of everything I'm afraid.
We offer a variety of colours and finishes for your ideal piece of jewellery.
Whether you prefer a classic, subtle look or multiple bursts of color, we have options for you.
When considering the colour and finish, think about how visible you want the hair to be, if you want it visible at all. Unlike other inclusions, hair and fur can vary greatly from person to person. Dark, coarse hair will show up much better than fine, light hair. While most clients are satisfied knowing that hair is included, if visibility is a priority, feel free to send a picture and we can provide advice.
Pearl finishes
Picking a pearl finish will give a classical look to your finished piece - a shine and lustre to the stone.
The best option for maximum visibility. The lighter tones and shades will give the best option for high visibility, whereas the darker colours will be the better choice if you'd prefer the hair to be a subtle addition.
Leaf Finishes
A beautiful addition for those who would like an iridescent multi-tonal finish to their piece.
Flashes of colour as the light catches the stone from different directions.
The coloured leaf will form the background, with the hair arranged on top. Visibility will be best on lighter colours, but it very much depends on the hair.
Sparkle finishes
A very twinkly choice! With bold and vibrant colours - perfect for a statement ring or necklace.
The chosen sparkle will form the background of your stone, with the hair arranged on top. A lighter sparkle will offer better visibility than a darker colour.
Mixed colours
A popular choice for those wanting a pop of colour in their inclusion stone.
Mostly used with a white pearl background, with a touch of coloured leaf gathered toward the edge of the stone.
Darker hair will show well against a light background, but blonde, white or very fine hair will have limited visibility.
